Karla and her son came over both Sat. and Sun. We had a good time. Her son bought us both walking sticks, good kid, huh? Techpriest worked (volunteered) both days, but was able to spend some time with us. Karla and I decided that kilts almost always make guys look better. And there were plenty of guys in kilts around. I decided Techpriest would look good in a kilt too, too bad they are so expensive. He did buy a set of 3 samurai swords, he has been wanting some for a long time, and they were a good deal. Our camera finally went kapluey, so it is a good thing I'm married to the webmaster for the festival, I sneaked some pictures from last year to give you some idea.
Sheepy goodness. It is quite amazing watching the sheepdog move them around.
McPherson Pipe band, my chiropractor is on the front right.
I've finished and mailed my squares to Ms. K for the Miners blanket, but no pictures. My phone will take pictures, but apparently it isn't talking to my computer, or Techpriest's either. And yes, he tried to figure it out too, no go. I am almost done with seaming the afghan for the Greensburg project too. I wanted to start Fetching, even bought the yarn, but no dpns in the right size. So went to the Weasley Sweater Ornaments in Charmed Knits.....and yet again no dpns in the right size. Seems to be a recurring theme, doesn't it? Now, I could magic loop it, but I really am coming to the conclusion that I really don't like magic loop, takes to long to fuss with the stitches. So the only way to solve this problem is to go shopping! My plan is to go ahead and buy a set of Knitpicks dpns in all they offer. I have the sock set(up to 3), but that is it. Do I buy the metal ones to match my current set, or go wild with the harmony set? Or do I just buy the sizes I need tonight at Yarns? Decisions, decisions.
Now for some sci-fi geekiness.

Some people have to much time on their hands.
Laura posted this awhile ago, she did a great job putting this video together too!

Those Harmony needles are SO pretty, of course I haven't seen any up close and personal...still.
That festival looks like fun.
I've seen the Harmony needles - very pretty. I'm waiting, though, to hear if they splinter. I like my Crystal Palace dpn's because the shiny coating helps the yarn slide and they don't splinter like the Brittney's do.
The festival looks and sounds like a great time. My camera croaked too, so we're in the same boat (and this weekend is the Montpelier Fall Fiber Festival).
Good luck with your needle search and have a great weekend!
